Sheet stock with QR: stop losing whole panels
A full sheet without a label gets lost as easily as an offcut.
Sheet stock looks simpler than it is: big panels, everything visible. In practice people mix MDF decor, glass thickness, and metal batch. They grab a "similar" sheet and cutting gets the wrong grade. QR on a full sheet is not luxury — protection from expensive "close enough."
Receive with ID immediately
The sheet is born in stock at receipt: supplier, size, thickness, bin, QR. "Label when we have time" never comes. Edge label visible in the rack beats a pretty barcode in a manual.
Move is a document, not a shout across the shop
"Moved to the saw" without a system move means inventory never reconciles. "At the machine" is also a bin. Cutting write-off must remove a specific QR, not "minus one 4 mm sheet."
Reserve for approved map
While the map is draft, leave the sheet alone. Once cutting is approved, the unit is reserved. Otherwise the manager sells the same laminated glass twice.
Why small shops need this
Even with five racks you gain less mis-sort and fewer "I put it here" arguments. List Master tracks sheets and offcuts as stock units, prints QR, and suggests candidates in cutting. Start at receipt: every new sheet gets a label; old ones during inventory.
